United States. Embassy (Saudi Arabia)
Variant names
The United States established a legation to Saudi Arabia at Jidda on May 1, 1942 and raised it to an Embassy on March 18, 1949. The Embassy was transferred to Riyadh September 26, 1984 with the existing U.S. Liaison Office in Riyadh raised to the rank of Embassy while the Embassy in Jidda (which had since been renamed Jeddah) became a Consulate General.
