Company K, Third Infantry of the National Guard, based in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina, was stationed in El Paso, Texas from 1916-1917. Company K, Third Infantry, was formed on November 9, 1911. The Company's first public appearance was on July 4, 1912. Their first annual encampment was from July 5-15, 1912, in Anniston, Alabama. On June 19th, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson called the Company into service and they were stationed at El Paso, Texas from 1916 to 1917.
