Howard, Worthington.

Howard, a resident of Shiawassee County (Mich.), served in the Michigan Infantry, 5th Regiment, Company H. He attained the rank of Sergeant. According to the regimental history, Howard died of disease in 1862 in the Military Hospital at Fort Lyon (Va.). His last address was Camp Michigan, near Alexandria. (For further information see the History of the Michigan Infantry 5th Regiment.) His sister, Sarah A. Howard (1842-1930), married Calvin M. Fuller at age 21 and together they had six children. She was a pioneer of Antrim Township (Mich.). Sarah had a sister, Fanny Howard Hovey, four brothers: Worthington (Worth), Hiram, Calvin, and BF (Benjamin Franklin). BF was a school teacher who died in Antrim Township (Shiawassee County, Mich.) in 1932. The Howard family homestead, still occupied by family members, is located in Shiawassee County.
