Riggin, Augustus Kerr, 1822-1903,
Born in Menard County, Illinois near Athens. Taught school in Middletown, Beardstown and Petersburg before studying the law. Menard County Clerk, 1853-1861. Left politics to farm and remained a well known citizen of the county.
