He married Abigail Burrough around 1759 and the couple had ten children together. Their names, in order of birth, are Samuel, John, Joseph, Anna, Issac, Marge, Thomas, William, Abigail, and Benjamin. Thorn died on the 17th of the 9th Month, 1809.
