Finkelstein, Leo, 1905-1998.
Leo Finkelstein (1905-1998) was a life-long resident of Asheville, N.C.A pawnshop owner and a member of the Asheville Jewish community, Mr. Finkelstein was also an avid scrapbook creator. He was a member of several civic organizations, including the Lions Club and the Elks Club. Leo Finkelstein served as an honorary deputy for the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department. After retirement, Finkelstein collected stories into two books, "Letters from Leo: World War II Correspondence to the Asheville Lions Club," and "Leo Finkelstein's Asheville and the Poor Man's Bank."
