Born in New York State, he came to Detroit ca. 1840 Where he died in 1867. He was a member of the Tillman, Silebee Co., furniture manufacturers. He married Martha Ann Conant of Monroe, Mich. (?), niece of Shubael Conant, and they had three children, Harry Conant, Katherine, and Louise. After his death bars. Tillman became the wife of Alpheus S. Williams.
