Emory University. President's Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns.
The President's Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Concerns at Emory University, an advisory body to the President of the University, was established in 1995 by William M. Chace to address matters of concern to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community at the University and to continue the work of the Committee on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns and the Committee on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Life. The Commission, later known as the President's Commission on Sexuality, Gender Diversity, and Queer Equality, examined issues such as homophobia and heterosexism at Emory, benefits for domestic partners, the University's Equal Opportunity Policy, LGBT studies curriculum, and the Office of LGBT Life.
