Hampton, John, 1743-1808.
Newberry and Ninety Six District, S.C. plantation owner and South Carolina state legislator. Hampton was the owner of Mount Airy, a plantation on the Broad River in the Ninety Six District. He also owned land in Orangeburg District (S.C.) with his nephew John Bynum.
