Ordained priest 1835 and appointed Rector of Cotesbach, Leicestershire. Selected by Bishop F.R. Nixon as chaplain, emigrated to Van Diemen's Land in 1843 and appointed archdeacon. Was superintendent of convict chaplains. Appointed chaplain of New Norfolk in 1847. Returned to England 1853.
