Born June 4, 1887 in St. Louis, Mo., son of Benjamin F. and Amanda Allen Crow. At age of 12 family moved to Keokuk, Iowa where he graduated from Keokuk High School, became assistant General Secretary of Keokuk YMCA, membership Secretary, Colorado Springs, Colo. Attended Colorado College, graduated from Columbia University, 1913. Executive Secretary, Prospect Park Branch, YMCA, Brooklyn, N.Y., 1913-1916. Came to Detroit in 1919 as City Industrial Secretary, YMCA. In 1921-25 was Sales and Advertising Manager of Strand Lumber Co. Assistant to the President F. M. Sibley Lumber Co. 1925 to 1944. Founder and President of the Economic Club of Detroit and active in many other organizations. Married in 1913, Eleanor G. Thomas (who died in 1961) and had daughter Agnes and son Walter A. who died in 1968. Married second, Mary Ellen Gladden in 1963. (Blue index cards)
