First Congregational Church (Detroit Lakes, Minn.)
The church was organized in 1872 in Detroit (later Detroit Lakes), Minnesota. In 1957, the Congregational Churches of the United States merged with the Evangelical and Reformed churches to form the United Church of Christ, but this congregation in Detroit Lakes elected not to affiliate with the merger. It has since remained independent.
