Committee appointed in 1929 by Illinois Governor Louis Emmerson pursuant to House Joint Resolution No. 32 in which the Governor was requested to collect data regarding the construction of a highway that followed the same path that the Lincoln family followed when traveling from Kentucky to Illinois. Committee officers were Logan Hay, Paul Angle, Oliver Barrett, Henry Horner and Otto L. Schmidt. Resolution No. 32 also called for a Lincoln National Highway Association for the state of Illinois, whose members were James M. Weaver, Adolf Sumerlin and Allen T. Lucas.
