Bernard A. Harris Jr. (b. June 26, 1956, Temple, Texas) is a medical doctor and former NASA Astronaut. He served on the crews of Columbia (STS-55) and Discovery (STS-63). While on STS-63 Harris became the first African-American to walk in space.
