Michael Small was born in New York City on May 30, 1939, and was raised in Maplewood, New Jersey. He began writing music while attending Williams College (MA), and by the mid 1960s had begun composing music for commercials and films. During his career he composed music for over fifty films, including “Klute,” “Marathon Man,” “Parallax View,” and “The Postman Always Rings Twice” (1981). Michael Small passed away on November 24, 2003.
