Gabriel Family.
The Gabriel family consisted of Clarence M. Gabriel, Sr. (1896-1988), a Rochester or Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois farmer, his wife Dorothy (1900-1988), and three sons: Frank (b. ca. 1920), Bernard L. (1922-1996), and Clarence M., Jr., (1924-1973). Bernard (nicknamed Coon) and Clarence (called Curl) served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Bernard (November 7, 1942-February 13, 1946) became a private first class and Clarence (April 7, 1943-February 24, 1946) a corporal. Their good friend was Louis A. Solle (b. ca. 1918), known as Bud, who enlisted in the Army Air Corps September 4, 1942.
