In 1919 Collins, a teacher, lived on N. Lansing St., Mount Pleasant (Mich.). In 1933 he taught at Junior High School, Stambaugh (Iron County, Mich.). Joseph Green was the minister at First Presbyterian Church in 1919. Charles Slater (Oct. 27, 1846-March 17, 1932) was the son of William and Sarah H. Slater. He married a local teacher, Matilda Whitehead (d. Feb. 12, 1923), on May 9, 1876. Together they had six children, four of whom were alive in 1932: Mary; Mrs. Elizabeth Zimmerman; Mrs. Eulah Smith; and Mrs. Ruth Shomin. He served as church elder for 57 years and worked as carpenter and manual training teacher at the Indian School in Mount Pleasant, 1892-1922. (Information from their obituaries, 1923 and 1932.).
