Member of clinical faculty, Department of Medicine, WUSM, 1915-1952. Olmsted served with Base Hospital 21, the medical unit sent by Barnes Hospital and WUSM to support American troops in World War I. Specialist in the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus. First physician in St. Louis to use insulin for this purpose.
