Lawrence family.
The Manor of St. George was the estate of the Smith family in the Town of Brookhaven, granted by royal patent in 1693 to Col. William "Tangier" Smith (1654/5-1704/5). The original manor house was located near Setauket, N.Y. The house currently known as the Manor of St. George is near Mastic on the south shore of Long Island.
