Flanner, Henry Beeson, 1820-1863

Flanner was the son of Quaker clergyman William Flanner. A botanist and teacher, he carried on a botanical correspondence with Dr. William Darlington, a physician of West Chester, Pa. In 1843 Flanner married Orpha Annette Tyler. He served as a substitute in the Civil War, was wounded, and died. His widow, living in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, moved to Indianapolis with her children.
