Patterson, Frances, 1918-
Variant namesBorn in Michigan, Patterson moved to Indianapolis in 1923. Her parents, Jennie Tyree Fowlkes and Jesse Fowlkes, divorced; her mother returned to her family home in Indianapolis with children Frances, Jesse Jr., and Paul. As adults, Jesse Jr. settled in Cleveland after World War II; Paul moved to Washington, D.C.; and Frances settled in Indianapolis after graduating from college.
