Frederick W. Sisson was a local Flagstaff, Arizona, businessman who is notable for having managed the Arizona Lumber and Timber Company. He was born in illinois in 1862 and went to Knox College where he graduated with honors. After working in Peoria, Illinois, for a couple of years, Sisson moved to Flagstaff and became treasurer for the Riordan family company, the Arizona Lumber and Timber Company. In 1888 he married Mary Willcox. According to various accounts, Sisson was considered one of the foremost, and best loved, citizens of Flagstaff. He was respected throughout the West for his intelligence, honeesty, and business acumen. He died in Los Angeles in 1908 of ptomaine poisoning.
