York: New Earswick Women's Adult School of the Society of Friends.
A Women's Adult School was established in the village of New Earswick in 1930, with encouragement and assistance from the existing Men's Adult School. The first President was Mrs Annie Hallaways, and the Co-Secretaries Mrs K Gould and Miss E Stabler. The school had 37 members initially. The school was active until at least 1977.
