Man : A Course of Study (MACOS) was a social science program of study for upper elementary grades that sought to understand human existence from an anthropological perspective. It was developed by the Education Development Center (then called Educational Services, Inc.) in the early 1960s and ended in 1975. Peter B. Dow was the program's director from 1967-1975.
