Christ Church (Geraldton, W.A.)

Hide Profile

The Christ Church foundation stone was laid by Rev Mathew Hale, first Bishop of Perth, in 1868. The church was demolished in November 1962 to make way for the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, consecrated on the 8 March 1964. These records are for both Christ Church and the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Church of England services were held in Western Australia from the colony's inception in 1829. The Church of England in Australia was established in 1962 and, in 1981, became the Anglican Church of Australia.
