Ira Spaulding, an officdr of the 50th New York Regiment of Engineers, 1861-1865; enrolled at Niagara Falls, NY, 5 August 1861; mustered in as captain, Co. E, 29 August 1861; transfered to Co. F, 8 August 1862; mustered in as major, 14 October 1862; as lieutenant colonel, 1 January 1864; mustered out with the regiment, 14 June 1865 at Fort Berry, Virginia.
