Wittig, Charles F. (Charles Frederick), 1808-1892.
Born in Nordheim, Germany; studied medicine at the University of Göttingen, graduating in 1833; immigrated to the United States shortly after completing his degree, and settled in Philadelphia, where he established a practice. He also translated medical works, including texts from French and Latin.
