The Office of University Relations along with the Office of Development comprises the Division of University Advancement, which works to advance the institution both externally and internally. The Office of University Relations supports the university through the offices of internal and external communications, publications, and marketing. The Office of External Communications generates communications pieces, such as news releases to the media, and responses to media inquiries on behalf of the university. Its goal is to ensure information about the university and its colleges is communicated accurately and timely to the public via the news media, both local and beyond. The Office of Internal Communications disseminates major university news and events to faculty, staff and students. The Office of University Marketing seeks to enhance the University of Houston's efforts to bolster the image of the university.
