Dell, James William.
J.W. Dell was one of three survivors of Captain Scott's Antarctic Expedition, 1901-1904, and a member of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Quest expedition, 1921-1922. Between expeditions he served in the Royal Navy, saw action off the Dardanelles and served in the Harwich Flotilla in the 1914-1918 War. He was Chief Petty Officer on the Quest.
