Pioneer (third couple) Southern Baptist missionary pastor- evangelist-educator-publisher to Japan, 1892-1935. Active in organization: mission, cooperative work, schools, publishing, book store and churches. Assisted with relief in Russo-Japanese War. Founded Baptist newspaper, SEIKO (Starlight) later the BAPTIST.
