Edbon, Claire A., 1882-1944
Variant namesClaire Allen Edbon, born Claire E. Daley on 3 Oct. 1882, was the daughter of W. H. Daley and Annie Jane Hanlon Daley; she was raised in Missouri; married Judge Augustus Chapman Allen on 9 July 1908; Judge Allen was born at Houston, Tex., on 2 Mar. 1861, son of Samuel and Margaret Allen; Samuel Allen, the brother of Augustus Chapman Allen (1806-1864), and John Kirby Allen (1810-1838), along with his brothers was a co-founder of the city of Houston; Mrs. Claire Allen later remarried; in 1940, wishing to keep the history of Houston in its founding city, Claire A. Edbon donated a collection of historical documents pertaining to the Allen Family to the San Jacinto Museum; she died on 14 Jan. 1944.
