The question of whether to hold a constitutional convention was placed on the 1965 general election ballot by the Legislature (Laws of 1965, Chapter 371). In 1967 procedures for the Convention were established (Chapter 124), including a provision that departments provide assistance and statements to the Convention or its committees upon request.
