Pioneer, of Washington Territory; farmer and carpenter with homestead near Sumner, Wash.; b. in Scotland; immigrated to Thompsonville, Conn., where resided until he was 20; spent four years in Illinois, then moved to Willamette Valley, Ore., and in 1854 to Washington.
