W.W. Gavitt Medical Company

William W. Gavitt established the W. W. Gavitt Medical Company after moving to Topeka in 1868. He was the president of W.W. Gavitt and Company, the Gavitt Loan and Investment Company, the W. W. Gavitt Medical Company, and the W. W. Gavitt Printing and Publishing Company, upon his death in 1922. His son, Harry, then took over the publishing and medical businesses. Based in Topeka, the Gavitt company sold medical products to customers all over the United States. The most popular product was a laxative, Gavitt’s System Regulator, which was sold through direct mail and by agents. The medical company closed in 1967.
