Dubose, William Porcher, 1836-1918
Variant namesWilliam Porcher Dubose served as a Confederate soldier and chaplain in Virginia and was captured and imprisoned at Fort Delaware. During Reconstruction he was an Episcopal minister in Abbeville and Winnsboro, S.C., and became a theologian at the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., in 1871.
