American Lutheran Church (1961-1987). Church Council. Executive Committee.
The concept of a model constitution for congregations was developed by the Joint Union Committee. A draft was completed in 1958 and approved by a joint meeting of district presidents in 1959. Later versions were approved first by the church council and then by its executive committee.
