National Mining and Exploring Company.
National Mining and Exploring Company, incorporated in New York in 1865, purchased gold mining property in the Scratch Gravel Mining District, Lewis and Clark County, Montana. Samuel B. Schieffelin founded the company, and William Jay Schieffelin later became a large stockholder in the company.
