Fletcher, Ruffin Drew, 1841-1929.

Founder of Thayer, Illinois and superintendent of the Chicago, Wilmington & Vermilion Coal Mine in that town. Had worked for the company in Streator, Ill. where the main offices and president A.L. Sweet were located, until 1900 when land was bought in Sangamon County and he went there to start up the mine. Remained in Thayer until his death. His good friend Ralph Hays and his daughter Edna worked in the office at the Thayer mine for many years.
