Jerome Aaron Moore (1903-1986) received bachelor's and master's degrees in Spanish from Texas Christian University during the 1920s. After beginning his teaching career at Texas Woman's University and earning a PhD in Spanish literature from the University of Pennsylvania, he became the first dean of Add Ran College at TCU in 1943. From 1970 to 1972, he served as Dean of the University. In addition to his administrative duties, Moore wrote a history of TCU entitled Texas Christian University: a hundred years of history published in 1974.
