Simonds, C. S.
Edgar Dewdney, engineer and politician, emigrated to British Columbia in 1859. Lieutenant Governor of the North-West Territories from 1881 to 1888. In 1888, became Canada's Minister of the Interior and Superintendent of Indian Affairs. Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia from November 1892 until 1897. Died August 8, 1916, in Victoria, British Columbia.
