Ellinwood family.
Everett Ellinwood was an attorney; appointed U.S. District Attorney to Arizona in 1893. Maintained law offices in Flagstaff, Tucson, Prescott, Bisbee, and Phoenix. Also was member of Arizona Constitutional Convention in 1910, served as president of Phoenix National Bank and Phoenix Savings and Trust Company, ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1926, and served on the University of Arizona Board of Regents, 1923-1941. He and his wife, Minnie, had two children, Cornelia and Ralph. Ralph became a journalist; and in 1924 purchased the Arizona Daily Star with William R. Matthews. Ralph was editor of the Star until his death in 1930. His wife, Clare Rounsevell Ellinwood, became co-publisher after his death.
