Carl Ferdinand Fritzsche (b. March 27, 1903, Cleveland, Ohio-d. Sept. 30, 1960, Oakland, California), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1928. He served in China and was a tactics instructor at the Academy during the 1930s. During the years of the Second World War, he served with the 1st Armored Division, was assistant commandant at West Point, and was deputy assistant chief of staff, 12th Army Group and European Command. Later he was assigned to the Army War College, served as assistant division commander, 25th Infantry Division in Korea, and chief of staff, 5th Army. While serving as Commandant of the Fort Ord Training Center, he was killed in an Army plane crash.
