U.S. District Court Clerk,
Mr. Wheeler was a veteran of the Civil War, originally from the state of New York. He settled in Arkansas after the war. He served as the U.S. District Court Clerk under Judge Isaac C. Parker for twenty-two years, until his accidental death on August 20, 1897.
