Ms. Deuell was the first accredited woman war correspondent. She was with Gen. Pershing in the Mexican Border War in 1916, she covered World War I in France, the American Army or Occupation in Siberia after World War I, and World War II in the Pacific. Some of the newspapers she wrote for were: The El Paso Morning Times, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, and The Shanghai Daily News. She was among the organizers of the Overseas Press Club of America.
