Fellows, John, 1735-1808.

John Fellows was born in Pomfret, Connecticut in 1735. He fought in the French and Indian War, was a member of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress in 1775, and led a company of militia to Cambridge after the battle of Lexington. He was made a brigadier general in 1776 and commanded troops in the battles of Long Island, White Plains, and Bemis Heights during the Revolutionary War. He participated in the capture of Burgoyne in 1777. After the war, he was sheriff of Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Fellows died in Sheffield, Massachusetts in 1808.
