The Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA) acts for the President in the latter's absence and is the principal academic officer under the President of The George Washington University, with administrative oversight of the Schools and other academic divisions, including the Virginia Campus. In 2003, the Vice President for Academic Affairs changed its name to EVPAA. The Vice President is responsible for educational policies in the areas of admissions, curriculum, research, libraries, academic computing, instructional television, distance learning, and faculty personnel administration and is the corporate officer to approve faculty appointments and ensure that such appointments conform with provisions of the Faulty Code.
