One of the ten ecclesiastical subdivisions created in 1706 by the Church Act of the General Assembly. Christ Church Parish, Charleston District, South Carolina laid the foundation for Christ Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina in 1707. The Christ Church Parish register is the second oldest in the diocese.
