Marshall family.
Artist, editor, and city planner, Elva Spiess Marshall (1922-1991) was born in Oakland, California, and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1944. The daughter of Elva Josephine and Frederick Henry Spiess, she married Woodbridge Marshall in 1946; they had three children: Woodbridge, Megan (Harvard College class of 1977), and Amy. Her husband, Woodbridge Marshall (Harvard College class of 1942), was the son of Elizabeth Metcalf Marshall and Joe T. Marshall (Harvard College class of 1913).
