Donald Crick, born 1916, has worked as a writer, farm and factory worker, clerk, insurance representative, publisher and book reviewer for The Australian and the Sydney Morning Herald. He has published 5 novels: Bikini Girl (1963), Martin Place (1963), Period of Adjustment (1966) - winner of the Mary Gilmore Centenary Award in 1965, A Different Drummer (1972) and The Moon to Play With (1981) - winner of the Rigby 1980 Anniversary Award. Awarded Commonwealth Literary Fund grants in 1970, 1973-74.
