Note at beginning of author's diary outlines her position at the "Family Living Consultant Center" in Heritage Halls at Brigham Young University: "In Sept. 1953, services of Home Econ. dept were made available to students living in Heritage Halls. A room in Rogers hall was equipped with kitchen unit - sewing machines - file desk - chairs for audience for demonstrations [-] cutting table - and one of the instructors from the dept. was assigned to begin the informal teaching program."
